This project comprised of a new part 2, part 3 storey hotel building consisting of 43 ensuite bedrooms; conference and leisure facilities; ballroom; public bars; toilets etc.
There was both piled and strip foundations; solid rising block walls; steel structural frame; precast concrete flooring; insulted cavity block walls with 650 m2 of Natural dressed stone; slated roof; Domestic mechanical and electrical sub contractors; Lift installation; car parking; landscaping and complete internal fit out.
The new hotel was constructed on an edge of town site beside existing buildings. The new hotel was designed so as to blend in with the existing buildings on the edge of the town, this was achieved by the extensive use of Natural dressed stone and Natural roof slate together with timber windows to the front façade. Solar tubes were installed to heat domestic hot water.
